Circus Circus Hotel and Casino – one of the older resorts – has several fun child activities. Spanning five acres, the Circus Circus Adventuredome theme park offers carnival rides, a roller coaster and a circus midway, loaded with games for kids and adults alike. Tightrope walkers and acrobats fill the big top.

On the south end of The Strip, Excalibur focuses on a medieval theme. With the appearance of a castle, Excalibur has many brave knights and fair ladies wandering about. They even provide a "hands-on" feast, featuring staged military clashes, ladies dancing, knights jousting on horses and fireworks. There's a video game arcade and carnival games for kids to enjoy.

Across from Excalibur, there is New York New York – truly a kid's wonderland. There's a roller coaster that operates inside and outside the building. It climbs over 200 feet, then plunges 140 feet, traveling about 65 miles per hour. New York New York has a video arcade and a street carnival, offering hours of entertainment for little ones.

The MGM Grand Hotel Resort and Casino is situated across from New York New York. Floating down the lazy river waterway is just one of the amusements at MGM. They also have fantastic swimming pools for cooling off. Not to mention the very kid-friendly Rainforest Café inside the casino where families can grab a bite and enjoy the "thunderstorms" in the rainforest-like setting. Plenty of kids souvenirs, along with T-shirts for everyone are sold just outside the door to the Café.

At the Mirage, Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is stunning in its visual beauty. Lions and tigers and dolphins, oh my! Kids of all ages will love these critter-friendly exhibits. They are definitely worth finding your way to the Mirage, located next to Caesars Palace on The Strip.

Need a babysitter while in Vegas? If you stay at the Orleans Hotel off The Strip, your problem may be solved. They provide a child care program onsite where kids can be dropped off for a few hours so parents can gamble for a bit or have a quiet dinner.

If you don't stay at the Orleans and you need a sitter, just call the Artsy Nannies. They will dispatch a nanny to your hotel to take care of the kids. Available 24 hours a day, they are licensed, bonded and insured.

If you are planning a family vacation to Las Vegas, you will be pleasantly surprised to see all the wonderful activities for kids. Plus, you can look forward to enjoying some adult entertainment, knowing the kids are safe and happy. Viva Las Vegas!
